I know how you want to chronicle the joy in your heart right now. I also know how challenging a consistent journaling practice can be. I hear you. I’m listening.

I began journaling my experiences and writing a series of letters to my son when I was pregnant. Keeping that journal really helped me prepare for his arrival. I discovered a greater sense of love, joy, and gratitude each time I picked up my pen. Writing helped ease my doubts and fears. My heart opened wide. That journal is one of my most treasured keepsakes today. We’re talking grab-it-if-the-house-is-burning-down! And I want to guide you, so that you can put your pen to paper in the most heart-felt, gratifying, and consistent way as you prepare for your child, too.

It’s been a whirlwind of storycatching over here, but we did it! All of your Gadanke journals are packaged and on their way for the holidays. Thank you for all your support! I think there are going to be some beautiful stories recorded this Christmas.

This weekend, I’m looking forward to slowing down. We’re going to go meet Santa’s reindeer. Judging by Niklas’ excitement about the deer out our window, I think the reindeer are going to be a huge hit… provided his squeals don’t spook them, too!

Home : the Greatest Setting for the Stories of Our Lives

It’s quiet here this morning. I can see my breath and feel a freezing sensation in my nose when I inhale. In the sky, there is nothing but an icy blue. A fog snuggles tightly into the edge of the valley as I walk over to the hangar. I want to hurry to keep warm; I want to slow down to enjoy the beauty of outside.

Journals have been flying off my shelves and right under so many Christmas trees. It’s an incredible experience to build all of these holiday packages for all of you! My work comes with a lot of chaos and noise. There isn’t much silence.
