A New Blogging Groove
I’ve come to this phase in blogging where there is no guilt. It’s an incredible feeling to blog when I feel inspired or when I can share something that might inspire you. Only then.
My story has changed so many times since I started this blog. I’ve lived abroad with a fantastic German husband. I’ve created a business that I love. He’s taught me to fly. I’ve almost learned to speak a second language. We’ve built a kitchen in a metropolitan city, then an entire house in a rural airplane hangar. I’ve met you. And now I’m becoming a mom, and he’s becoming a dad.
I cannot begin to tell you how beautiful this journey has been! And now…
I’m blogging less; meanwhile I’m journaling more than I ever have before.
I’m blogging less; meanwhile Martin and I are making plans for how we want to finish our home before our son is born.
I’m blogging less; meanwhile Martin and I both just feel really good about where we are.
Yes, this blog is quieter than it used to be. Don’t think I’m going anywhere, though! I’m still here.My decreased energy is teaching me to focus differently. No doubt, I’ll have to learn all over again in November.
I’m so excited. I’m enjoying the slower blogging pace this summer. As the cold weather returns, who knows where we’ll be. But it won’t be blogging any less. I know that.
Thank you for all the kind words and bits of wisdom about our baby! We haven’t done a lot about baby stuff. You know: disposable diapers or cloth. This carrier or that. Rocking chairs or… That time will come. Right now, we’re actually lining up construction supplies. You know us! We don’t work well with a little project here or there. We dive all in or we wait. You know we’d love to build a bathroom sink before the little guy gets here.
There’s lots to do. Poor Martin. I’m not able to help execute our ideas like we’re both used to. “I’m just the idea person who piles on projects for you,” I tell him. “No,” he answers. “You’re working on a more important job for this family.”
Then he laughs, agreeing that I do seem to be very good at putting a lot of idea lists on his desk!
Here’s to a week of great ideas for us all! What are you planning?
