Spring in Germany
I am in love with Berlin right now.
I am in love with eating outside again.

I love finding people who are taking the time to kick back and enjoy life.

I am in love with the flowers that are blooming absolutely everywhere – and anywhere.

The tourists are all returning. My bike bell is getting good practice so that I do not crash into anyone. Berlin has so many bike lanes. But unfortunately, tourists usually don’t realize they’re standing in these lanes.
Ha – I’m just realizing my expression below is usually the exact same one poor pedestrians in the bike lane get.

The season between “Christmas market season” and spring was very long, dark, and icy in Germany. I can’t bare to pull up the pictures again. It was lovely in it’s own way (so you can click here if you missed those shots), though I’m still trying to get reacquainted with the sun. He didn’t recognize me with such dark blonde hair.
We have decided THIS IS THE SEASON to be a tourist in Germany.

Ahh. I am in love.
Are you soaking up the sun, the warmth, and the GREEN in your parts? And are you finding love where you are? Right now? Today? Let’s share joy in these moments. What do you say?

Your pictures are great! LOVE the one of you -very cute jacket!
I used to really dislike spring in Portland, but this year I decided to change that and now I’m actually loving spring. The flowers are a definite plus and we’ve decided to embrace baseball games, playing at the park, yard work, planting seeds, drinking homemade arnold palmers, spring cleaning, eating on the front porch and baking blueberry muffins. And we’re just ignoring the deluge of rain and overcast days…

I love spring in Germany!! I think it is beautiful with plenty of sunshine, blue skies, and flowering trees. I extra love it this year after such a long cold winter.

In Texas, one of the rights of spring are the blue bonnets. They grow along all the highways and fields. Right now they are in full bloom turning everywhere into fields of blue. they only last about two months, because by mid May texas is useally in the 90′s but for those few weeks it is a wonderful sight.

I have been soaking up the sun since Saturday. But… it is suppose to snow here on Friday. :( I must count my blessings for the sunny days and remember that I am in Montana!

I once lived in Berlin, too. Back when it was East and West. We lived in the Zellendorf area. I clicked over from Ali’s blog to see your Berlin photos. At the first sign of sunshine warmer weather, Europeans are much more likely to be outside than Americans, don’t you think?

I am loving it as much as you are. I can’t decided what I’m enjoying more: the sunshine, or the fact that I don’t have to chop wood or light the stove for another half year. :)

I am a native Berliner (originally from Nikolassee). I live in Southern California now but come back to Berlin every two years or sometimes more and use it as a starting point to go to Danmark or the North Sea.
I’m glad you are enjoying the outdoor cafes, the street festivals, the countless bakeries and boutiques, Tiergarten. Make sure you eat at “Die Schleuse”, a large Biergarten, a short walk from the Zoo (at Bahnhof Zoo). They have great food and a fun atmosphere.

Found your blog through the comments on Ali Edwards’ page and I love your pictures. I lived in Berlin in 1997 and I miss it tons. These pictures make me so nostalgic, especially the first one!

Last weekend was amazing. I fell in love with the city all over again, too! The clouds are back, at least for a bit, but we know now that spring really does come, ha!

OOh – thank you to all of the hellos from former Berlin residents. And thanks for a few tips to check out, too. They’re on our list!
