I have favorites in each category: the aria "Un Bel Di, Vedremo" Madame Butterfly (the opera). "Welcome to the Future" (Brad Paisley, country singer) and "Life Less Ordinary" (Carbon Leaf).
Oh my gosh, just listened to Pink Martini. How awesome that there is the orchestra playing the Tchaik Piano Concerto??? Thanks!

Well this will make a girl stop lurking! I have loved Pink Martini for years! I was introduced to them with "Hang on Little Tomato." My brother-in-law is getting married the day before they play in Texas and I am almost as excited to see them live the first time as I am for the wedding!

Thanks for the links, ladies. They are open and waiting!

I would say that while it seems more complicated to have an orchestra or large group performing, they band does keep simple in one area - all of their music comes from traditional instruments. Today technology really seems to incorporate a lot of artificial and computer-generated sounds and effects. So is that a stretch? I think I am beyond in love with the simple beauty of instruments - so could be bias!

Thanks to you, Pink Martini is now a favorite band of me and my husband. Even our kids like them! Oh, and the song from Sesame Street on this album brings back fond memories from my childhood! Go Luis!
