Finding Simple December Moments
I biked home from German class with snow falling on my eyelashes today. I’ve been waiting so long for snow this year.
Are you as eager as we are for the weekend? We’re going to try roasting chestnuts.

I really like these walnut ornaments, this recycled magazine tree, and stringing LED Christmas lights across the front of our living room. The simple moments really make all the difference this time of year, don’t you think?
The hunt for candy canes in Germany continues.

No snow in Atlanta!! I miss Connecticut. :(
So I definitely hit some gravel and completely wiped out ON MY SCOOTER the other day. I’m terrified to drive it now. But I haven’t traded in two wheels for four yet – rather two wheels for two legs. I’ve been walking to work (it’s only 3 miles) and that has been wonderful.
I wish the streets in the United States were better kept up and safer for two-wheeled forms of transportation. Be safe on your bike!! (especially with the snow)

Can’t wait to hear about your chestnut roasting! One of my friends recently roasted some and made soup — it looked amazing :)

No snow in texas eithier, in fact it was 74 on Sunday. We did have a cold front come in and now we are in the 40′s. The weather man said by all indications a even colder front will be moving in mid next week and the weather man said if we get any moisture we might have a slight chance of snow. My son has been whining as this is the second winter now with no snow and he really want to build a snowman. We did take him to six flags amusement park
where they have brought in a machine that makes fake snow that covers this huge hill and allows kids to go sleding down. Are candy canes really hard to find there? My wifes family called yesterday, its almost like they are forgetting this christmas and are already counting the days for next christmas when we are all there next year.

Here in Virginia we just got lots of snow. It will be very strange to have a white Christmas, but fun for my kids.

How’d the chestnut roasting go?

As you already know from my blog, we got major snow this weekend! however, your flurries may have been more ideal. The city ground to a halt – and now it’s a MESS for commuters on foot or on bike.
I was hoping to make the most out of the snowed-in weekend and finish my holiday gifts that I’m making…but with my boyfriend snowed in here with me my productivity suffered. I’m most efficient when I’m alone with no distratctions.
How did you roast the chestnuts?

Chestnut roasting = the coolest thing ever. Well with trial and error! More to come, I promise.
Enjoy all your snow those who got some.. or lots!
