Autumn in Berlin

Hi all.  We’re making a mad dash to take care of some paperwork this morning, so things are a bit hectic.  Perhaps I can distract you with a few autumn pictures from Sunday?

I never really got to experience autumn in the Rocky Mountains.  Just as school started, we would start getting frost.  The leaves on the trees would die, and warm walks like this through the parks were impossible.  I never minded it.  In fact, I loved it.  But I also love this so very much.

What’s it like where you live right now?

Beautiful pics Katie! Our leaves just started turing a bit. I can’t wait to show the baby the beauty of fall (though I don’t think he’ll understand it).

    Beautiful Berlin!
Here (Greece) the weather is still warm. In fact it’s so hot most of the days, that a lot of people still go for a quick swim in the (hot) sea.
I am sick and tired of summer, though! I want autumn and golden trees and fireplaces and blankets!
Thank God we took a mini 4-day trip to Belfast and enjoyed autumn to all its golden glory!
By the way, do you have any tasty recipes for pumpkin soup? Do post one or two!

I’m so jealous! I’m in Arizona, so after living the first 20 years of my life in New England, I really, really miss autumn. Living here for a year has proven to me that fall is by far my favorite season. I love the first picture you posted – it’s gorgeous! It looks like the kind of photo you would get blown up and framed on a wall!

I too am in Arizona, but live in Flagstaff at 7000 feet. The fall here has been so beautiful. We have lots of different trees that show their color. My favorites are the Aspen trees that turn brilliant yellow and sometimes a bit of red. They wave at us in the breeze as if saying good-bye before they fall off for the winter. The weather has been great this year, so we have been out in the woods enjoying the beauty. We are expecting our first snowfall tonight, so know the color will be gone until very soon. (Yes, it does snow in a few places in Arizona). Jenny, you should come to Flagstaff next year and enjoy our fall color.

Gorgeous photos Katie! It’s chilly, rainy and just plain gloomy in NJ. Yuck. Hopefully it dries off before the weekend – the Foo’s grandparents are visiting and we want to have some fun!

    I live in Michigan.
What is so amazing living here through out the Fall season,
is how brilliant the color of the leaves
can be even on drab, blah, sunless days!

I’m trying your oven roasted applesauce this evening..
can’t wait!!! Thanks for the recipe! It looks like a real
    winner!!

Not so surprisingly, it looks remarkably like Berlin where I live. I love autumn in Germany. It’s my favorite time of the year here. Winter is lovely too, but there’s nothing like the colors of fall.

I love to read all of your perspectives at the exact same time. My sister called and said, “Wah! It’s snowing.”

Good luck with the roasted apple sauce, Amy.

How pretty!! Here in Utah it is gorgeous weather. We had snow last week, but this week it’s all warm and sunny. The leaves are falling fast, and I’m sure we will have snow again soon. But our weather is always varied. :)
