hi katie :) it's really strange to know that most of the "kat" people i know are travellers including myself! i have been traveling around my country since 2007 and will try to travel out this 2011. and, yes, there's no actually specific career, which will most of the time allow you to travel. as for my case, it's the type of company structure wherein i work for, which allowed me to travel more :)

nice one on the japanese wedding article. i am actually going to japan as my first out of the country trip and i hope to become a witness to a japanese wedding. thanks for sharing!

Sky - I thnk that more important than picking a type of career that allows you to live abroad or travel is picking a type of lifestyle that does. And studying foreign language - that's a huge thing! So I hope that helps. I can't offer a conventional pick-this-career because any career can do it if that's what your heart feels and that's what you follow.

Wow, such a beautiful wedding. I was wondering, if a Japanese man marries a non- Japanese women, does the non- Japanese women still change clothing and wear the traditional clothing. I have never seen a traditional Japanese wedding, but I have seen several pictures. My English teacher was telling us about her wedding. Her husband is Chinese American and she is Anglo-American, she had two weddings, one Chinese and the other American styled. Her daughter just got married to a Middle Eastern and they too had a wedding that was both American styled and Middle Eastern styled. I hope you don't mind me asking, what do you do as a career that allows you to travel? I, myself, am a college student and I'm in the process of deciding my major, I want to travel the world since it has always been my dream, but not sure how I could go about that.

Katie, you have been all over the place, you world traveler! We have a Japanese friend who has stayed with us when he is here in the U.S., and he's shown us all sorts of photos, including wedding shots. It is beautiful - so graceful. Maybe you'll get to go back sometime soon? ;)

When I was in Japan, we happened upon a wedding...we didn't realize the temple we were going to was still used...it felt almost like we were intruding, but the wedding party seemed completely unfazed by all the people looking at them!
