Hint #5: Saddle Up
As we make our way toward revealing our summer plans to all of you since we can’t stay in Germany, we thought we’d narrow things down a bit for you today. I’m also going to embarrass the heck out of myself.
For those of you just joining us, here’s a quick recap of the clues we’ve shared so far:
- Martin surrounded by dirty wires, showing us an old instrument. And a shot of clouds
- A dirt road where I expertly cropped the horse poop out of the shot
- A green airplane tail
- Mountains thick with pine trees
I thought we’d talk about location today. On one side, we’ve got 50% of your guesses for the Rocky Mountains. On the other side are all those voting for the Appalachians. Let’s see if this picture clears things up. And be nice, ya’ll.
Looking for more laughs (preferably not at my expense)? Check out this menu translation we found and the doormat Martin wanted.

For some reason, John Denver’s song started swirling around in my head: “Ohhhohh Montana give this child a home. . .”
I don’t know why. But the hat made me think Argentina.
Those are just off the top of my head.
Whatever it is, I hope it is really fun!

I have no idea, since I’m just joining in. Umm, Bonanza? Where did they shoot that?

Could you be working at a Dude Ranch somewhere in the vicinity of a National Park? Maybe Yellowstone?

Hubby and I were just looking at our atlas. Now we are thinking you are going to be in the vicinity of the Black Hills in North Dakota or South Dakota. Or even Nebraska. Hubby is thinking more around the area where Mt Rushmore is in South Dakota. So are we getting warmer now?

I’m pretty darn sure it’s not Yellowstone. I know that park pretty well. I go every year. Not the Dakotas and definatly not Nebraska… If it’s not Rocky Mountain, it could be Glacier. It’s erroded enough. And the trees look about right for parts of it, too. And I know there are airplane tours over the park… I love Glacier.

Oh boy, you are so tricky. I just wish it was SEATTLE. But I don’t see many of those cowboy hats around here.

Having lived near both mountain ranges I can attest that there are people who wear cowboy attire in both… so, this photo does not help me out at all (though it does probably remove southern California)…

Biting my tongue, telling myself over and over: DON’T GIVE IT AWAY YET, KATIE!
I will tell you this: no dude ranches. Sorry Linnea. But wouldn’t that make a wild summer? You are all coming up with such fun plans for us that, well, I wish we didn’t have something set already! Next year?

Out in the west old Texas town of Cote, Wyoming, Katie fell in love with a Mexican-cowboy!
