Hint #4: Look Out!
True to our word, I’m back with another clue about our summer plans. As you know, Martin and I can’t spend the season in Germany. We’re planning a little adventure in the US. I’ve already shown you pictures of clouds and Martin surrounded by dirty wires, a beautiful country road, and a big hunk of green metal (that was quickly identified, by the way – bravo!).
Now we’re on to our fourth hint about where we’re off to for the summer. Grab those thinking caps because here it is:
So what do you think? Give us your best shot!

West Coast, California….near San Francisco or perhaps Calistoga? At least tell me if I’m getting warmer!

I hope you repeat your summer adventure in 2010 because there’s a chance we could head your way as part of our summer vacation!!!!!!!!

Those are defiantly “older” mountains (but I could be wrong) so I’m really thinking somewhere along the Application chain. That doesn’t really narrow it down but I’m stumped!

Looks like Colorado to me…hmmm.

Shucks… I agree I think the mountains are too “old” and the trees are too thick and go up to high to be most of the mountains near me (aka Colorado). So, I’m going with southern Cali too… though I don’t have much more of a clue as to what you (or at least Martin) will be doing there.

Hmmm….If it is Calistoga like one suggested, you won’t be far from me. But the picture does not really look like that area. So maybe in the Sierras in California or maybe in Colorado. I don’t know where else to suggest.

I was serious before about it looking like Montana, but since you already said that i was way off :)…. i’ll stick my neck out and say it’s not the Appalachians, because the trees aren’t diverse enough… too few deciduous…. You’re going to fight forest fires in SoCal!?

Hmmm???? Not sure!
Tasty Thursday is back!! Hope to see you there and wouldn’t mind if you help spread the word either! :o)

Hmmm..I’m not sure, either. Could it be the Appalachian Mountains, maybe? :0)

Yikes, I hope that those trees aren’t getting hit by the pine beetle! It sure is beautiful country though! I will come to visit you!

It’s killing me. I just want to shout out everything, which is why I don’t really respond to guesses. Forgive me. It’s just so hard. I want to tell you all, then I want to invite you all in!
I’ll give a clue that’s more specific about place. For now, yes, Michelle. Those trees were hit with pine beetle. The view you’re looking at here is all national park.
I ought to give another hint about my plan, huh, Jenna? Hmmmm….
You’re all right about really old mountains.

Looks like a national park… Mountains look to be fairly erroded… The trees look alpine… Looks Colorado-ish. Rocky Mountain National Park?? I haven’t been there, so I don’t know from personal viewing. :)

Sorry to chime in twice..but seriously, we’re planning our 2010 vacation and we’re going to your neck of the woods-ish, for sure. How exciting is that? Not just Matt, the Foo, and I. Also my folks, my brother, his wife and their two kiddos. Big family vacation!

Okay, you’re going to being flying around the US in a plane that Martin supped up. You’ll be making stops to help people remodel their super tiny kitchens and construct awesome man caves. :)
April 16th, 2009 at 7:52 am
Oh drat… There are so many national parks… Can’t be the big one… I can’t wait until you tell!
April 16th, 2009 at 8:26 am
It’s not enough beetle kill to be in my part of CO, Although it could be an older photo. HMMM! Is it Rocky Mountain Natl’ Park? Are you moving to Estes Park?

New Hampshah! Ey, yup. I think.
