Hallway Decorating Plans
I’m signing back in again, my friends. It’s wonderful to be back on my feet again. All at once, I am eager to do so many things while urging myself to spend as much time on the couch as I can. Are you as notorious as me for overdoing it after you’ve been sick?
We started working on the hallway. In all honesty, I began painting it months ago. I am beyond amazed how we managed to live with an unfinished paint job. When you live with something, you kind of start accepting that it’s how it is. You can walk by it a million times and never be bothered while a visitor would walk in and think, “Oh My Gosh!” That’s been our hallway.
Though perhaps you would agree that a 95% finished paint job could be better than this:
This picture is our hallway when the last tenants lived here. We can’t wait to show you the finished space! Meanwhile, back to the couch…
Keep it green and simple with 2 more ideas:

You should try living with the wallpaper half-peeled off in your hallway (and your kitchen and your bathroom) for 2+ years. It looks terrible, but I’ve gotten used to it. I guess I should put that next on my list.

Hi Katie! I hope you feel better soon. One thing that strikes me every time I read your blog is how you are allowed to renovate an apartment to that degree in Germany. Do you rent or did you buy? I also love hearing you talk about the culture differences between the Germans and Americans. My family came to the US from near Berlin several generations ago, so it feels like I get to connect to my heritage a little through you. Thanks for the cool reads!

Hi Katie….glad you feeling better, nothing worse then being sick and not feeling like doing a thing…much better to feel good and not do a thing…I have been out of the blog loop for over a week now with a staph infection in a finger from re-potting a basil plant…dirt in the cuticle, Yikes…have you ever seen a finger three times it normal size? Hope your weekend is going well and happy to see you still deocrating….

I too feel like doing EVERYTHING when I’m sick. Why is that? When I’m well, all I want to do is loaf around on the sofa, but when I’m sick and should be on the sofa I want to get up and finish all those projects I keep putting off. Isn’t that crazy?
You need to rest and drink lots of fluids. Though I can’t wait to see your hallway!

Katie, Hope you’re feeling all better soon! I’ve been taking care of a sick kid and a sick husband, so I’m sorry I haven’t checked in earlier. All are on the mend now, thankfully.
Can’t wait to see what you have in store for the hallway!
