OH MY GOD! I LOVE IT! Seriously, I gasped! The light fixtures are gorgeous – I don’t think I’d seen a peek of those before? And the shelves at the end of the island are wonderful – I love what you have on display. And how neat that the cupboard underneath is accesible on both sides of the island. The countertop is just gorgeous – you guys are quite talented!!! I so wish I lived in Berlin so I could just come over and have a cup of tea on your couch and sit there and admire all your (and Martins!!) hard work in person. Really, it’s absolutely lovely and I love your style. Bravo!!!
February 26th, 2009 at 5:58 am
Katie, your kitchen is WONDERFUL! Congratulations on all of your Hard Work. I am amazed that you guys could accomplish something so beautiful in such a tiny footprint, and with all the restrictions & hurdles to overcome. You both should be very proud of yourselves! It is a HUGE change over what you started with. So open & inviting. I hope you are able to enjoy it for a long time!!

That is GORGEOUS! So different to how it was before, and I love the way the brown wall in the living room picks up the cupboards in the kitchen and unifies it all. LOVELY. Well done. I hope you have many happy years in that room….

You guys really did an awesome job. It looks SO good. I also really like how your wall color matches the cabinets. You two really do rock – I’m so impressed. Maybe you should go into business together – cause it was fun right? You want to do it all the time??? lol :)
February 26th, 2009 at 8:24 am
Wow, wow, wow!! Sooo worth the wait, Katie! Love the pendants, the granite and cabinets are so sleek and modern, and knocking out that wall was genius. It looks like a completely different kitchen and much much much bigger than the sq ft you say it is.
I’m speechless.
February 26th, 2009 at 8:27 am

I bow down at your DIY godliness. My husband wants to do the woodwork in our future first house (molding around windows and doors, crown molding, baseboards, etc.) as most places in the areas we’re looking don’t have such detailing. I’m seeing tarps in the next year to come — I will remember these pictures for encouragement and inspiration when we’re covered in sawdust!
February 26th, 2009 at 5:45 pm
Amazing! You both should be very proud of yourselves! :o)

Taking out that wall is inspired! So much more open and light – I can’t imagine how the original designer thought that it was a good idea. Beautiful work – you are inspiring me for my modern kitchen renovation!
