I need to do this... it's so easy to just pile them in a basket or in a closet. It's absolutely a chore that is always front and center, yet never completely accomplished. Thanks for the suggestions.

Paper trails are not something we have to deal with here. We have designated spots for pesky papers and I deal with mail as soon as it comes in the house. My husbands mail goes into a holder on his desk, bills into a "to be paid" file in the desk drawer, junk mail straight into the trash, and we have a simple filing system for all other types of paperwork. I think the key to conquering it is to deal with it as it drifts in. Great tips and thanks for sharing them.

You know what I do? This has always worked for me...with 5 kids we get tons of stuff home from school and the mail lady is always dumping off tons of junk mail and mags. Everytime I open the mail and go through our school communication envelope, I stand right over the waste basket/recycling bin, and only keep the stuff I want. I can not believe how much I throw away every day. Only a few bills go in a bin, and the absolute important stuff on the bulletin board. Any kid's stuff I want to save go in a special box that I sort once a year.

Do NOT come in here and look in my office. YIKES! I get some clutter on the kitchen counter when I've been cooking a lot...just the recipes stacking up. But my desk has been a disaster zone for months now. Since I had Mack I guess. But not really because I have been busy with her (which is true) but because my mom was here for 6 weeks and used that computer all the time so I was never in there. Stuff just started stacking and stacking...I've tried to get a hold of things but everything else just seems more important.
I MUST get control of the clutter soon...it's just killing me! :)

Thanks for correcting me, Jenna. I appreciate it. I'm glad to hear you sent cards, too.

In other news, you have all brought me such smiles with your responses. I read other blogs and swear we must be the only ones with too many papers. I'm not alone! Yeah.
