Things Are Looking Up
So here’s a wild way to spend your day: examining our kitchen ceiling. I promised a picture after we hung the wallpaper on the ceiling, and I didn’t do it. (Bad Katie.) Now the halogen lights are up, and I’m trying to make amends, though I wish I weren’t because this picture tells me two things.
1. Our family will never make it as wallpaper installers. It’s okay, I didn’t really like the job anyway. Can you see the seams, especially in the upper right?
2. Our family really REALLY needs to wash the house when we’re done with all this remodeling. The entire ceiling on the left edge of this picture is slightly red. That would be sawdust. On the ceiling.
See? Wild times, huh?

You two need to settle down! ;) I think the wall paper (should we call it ceiling paper instead?) looks fine. Who’s going to scrutinize it that closely anyway? And, yeah, the sawdust is insane. I thought (until I read what it was) that you had used a different color paint in the kitchen. When is the big reveal????? I can’t wait to see it.

I can’t wait to see the whole thing when it is done. I could not see the seams too well myself. I think it is because you know it is there that you notice that. Good luck with finishing up the rest of the kitchen. Can’t wait to see it!

I also think the ceiling paper looks fine – no one will even pay attention to it once you’ve got the place decorated! :) I can’t wait to see the big reveal!

I once wallpapered our fridge. It was a mess after too many years of use, but worked fine. It actually came out great and as you can imagine, was a conversation piece whenever anyone new visited. After 10 years, we sold the house and left it, but it looked just as good (if totally out of date) as the day I did it.

After you left a comment on my blog I went to yours. I read your post on flowers and when my husband bought me flowers on valentines day I carried them upsidedown, I changed the water daily and cut the ends everyother day and they have lasted longer than any other flowers I have ever gotten. Thanks!

I had to really look to notice the seams- I think you just notice it more b/c you know it’s there, I would not notice it at all if you hadn’t mentioned it!
And so your ceiling needs a little dusting, I’ve got a few cobwebs of my own!

Katie I don’t see the seams, really. And that does not seem like a fun job – either one – putting up wallpaper or cleaning – the ceiling. I hope you guys are able to relax some this weekend. I love seeing these photos of your work in progress!

I can’t tell there’s wallpaper there, either! But I don’t blame you – it’s so not fun. :) Hope you have a good weekend!

Oh you’re all so wonderful! It’s always so much harder to be satisfied with something that you do yourself. Good thing it’s on the ceiling. I don’t think we’ll be looking up much anyway, like you all said.
