We’ve been remodeling our little office. I still don’t have it put together and I’m going nuts. For example, I can’t just transfer files from the old cabinet to the new. Oh no. I must sort through the files, shredding old papers, deciding which files don’t even need to exist. It’s mind-numbing. And your renovation sounds much much more extensive. yikes.

Trust me, you will enjoy it SO much more when it’s done knowing you did it. We remodeled our last house completely and lived in it during the remodel. At the time it was a pain, but now I forget just how much it drove me crazy and I kind of miss it.

Your place is coming along beautifully, Katie! Yes, it would be nice to be able to relax in a dust and construction-free home, but it will be all worth it in the end. There IS a light at the end of the tunnel, don’t worry =)

Our home projects have been the source of many cranky hours and arguments. But we pledged to just focus on one room at a time to keep our overwhelming to-do list manageable. It’s still hard to remember the more important things in life, though.

I am an electrical engineer. I sort of wish I had a soldering iron of my own, although I will concede they aren’t very pretty.

As for the remodeling, that put a real strain on our marriage too when we bought this house. You can’t really understand how very difficult it is to live with the chaos until you do it. Good luck to you guys, it will be worth it when you’re done, as long as you can hang in that long!
