Christmas Markets in Berlin Germany Part 2
Christmas around the world is beautiful. There’s no question about it. But after seeing some before shots of the Christmas markets in Berlin, I didn’t know about you, but I was dying to see some pictures of Christmas in Germany.
My friend Vica put together a special treat. She’s a talented and kind woman from Romania who currently lives in Berlin. I love looking at photography on her blog, fotogravika, over and over. And every so often, I accompany one of her works with my poems on Making This Home. I hope you all get the chance to view her work. She does everything in English – how cool is that for all of us? She’s seriously amazing, as you can see…
Frohes Weihnachtsfest (A joyous Christmas celebration)!

I’m inspired now. I need to make some Christmas cookies or make a few more ornaments (and quit staring at all of those delicious roasted nuts)!
What about you? Any must-do holiday excitement floating around your house? And truly, are you drooling with envy over Vica’s talent like I do?

I am so envious. Where I live it is so commercialized it makes the holidays a nightmare since everyone is in a hurry to shop. There is, however, ONE place to escape the madness, the zoo. They have the most amazing display of lights during the holidays and I always make a point to go.

Yes, totally drooling with envy over her talent, and her current location. Ahh, to be in Berlin for the Christmas markets. So lucky!
And yes, I’m off to make my final batch of Christmas cookies to bring with us to Virginia tomorrow morning!
Katie – Merry Christmas to you and your family! Hope you have a fabulous holiday – thanks for sharing these photos, and I look forward to pouring over her other photos on her site later!

Gorgeous photos! Tomorrow, we’re making gingerbread houses, and today, iced the last of the cookies – whew! Christmas Eve is the “big” day to my holiday, I can hardly wait! :o)

Those photos are amazing! You’re so right — very beautiful.
Still lots to do. Housekeeping to finish. Cooking and visit to family tomorrow. More cooking and prep on Friday for family friends coming to vist Saturday. I’m worn out thinking about it!

In Texas, many people wrap their curvy live oak trees with strands of white lights. I’ve never seen trees silhoutted with lights — love that!
Have a very Merry Christmas and safe travels. :-)
