Christmas Markets in Berlin Germany Part 1
When we left Germany for the holiday, crews were proudly working throughout the city to get ready for the Christmas markets. I have often heard people say that Christmas time is the best season to visit Germany. There is spiced wine, happy children, and handmade Christmas crafts on display. I love the smell of roasting nuts and imagine the cinnamon and laughter. One American friend told me it’s the sort of celebration where you just want to go every day. You want to smell everything… and buy everything.
Germany brought us the Christmas Tree, Silent Night, and some amazing Christmas cookies – what a fantastic place to celebrate, I imagine! In the meantime, this is what I saw before we left:

You can find Part 2 of this series during the Christmas market here.

Kind of bittersweet leaving at the holidays then, huh? :) I hope you are enjoying being “home” for a bit though.

I bet Christmas in Berlin is soo fantastic! I’d love to spend Christmas outside of the States sometime. Sadly, I don’t forsee escaping the clutches of family for Christmas anytime soon. The most exotic I may get is Nevada for Christmas some year. :)

Being a total Christmas freak, I’ve always wanted to visit European Christmas markets, but could never imagine being away from family for the holidays. Maybe one day when my daughter and nephews are older I can get my whole family to travel there for the holidays – now that would be something special!
I hope you’ll get to see the markets when you return – or maybe they’ll be closed up by then? Regardless, the photos you posted are really neat!

That would be so much fun to visit the Christmas markets. That tree is huge!
